Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 24, 2026
FanbaseSocial ("FBS", "the site") is a social site built on a simple idea: even the small guy gets to shine on here. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, what we do with it, and what we never do.
1. What we collect
- What you give us: your name, @handle, password (stored only as a scrambled hash — never in plain text), door choice (socialize, build a fanbase, or both), profession, city/state if you add them, bio, and everything you post: posts, comments, reactions, shares, beats, podcast episodes, videos, and productions.
- Private messages: Base Call direct messages are stored so you and the other person can read them. They are private to the two of you and are never shown to anyone else.
- Automatic data: basic server information needed to run and protect the site, such as IP addresses used for sign-in rate limiting and abuse prevention, and counts such as views and plays.
FanbaseSocial does not ask for your email address at signup in this version, and does not use third-party advertising trackers.
2. What we do with it
Your public profile, posts, and productions are shown to other users — that is what a social site is. Your private messages are shown only to the people in the conversation. We use your data to run the site, keep accounts secure, prevent spam and abuse, and improve features. We do not sell your personal data to anyone, and we do not share it with advertisers.
3. Video chats
Video chats run directly between participants' browsers (WebRTC). FanbaseSocial relays only the small connection signals needed to set a call up; it does not record calls.
4. Cookies
FanbaseSocial uses one cookie: a session cookie that keeps you signed in. It is httpOnly (JavaScript on the page cannot read it) and, on the live site, sent only over HTTPS. There are no advertising cookies.
5. Your choices
You can edit your profile, bio, profession, location, and @handle at any time. You can delete your own posts. You can fan or unfan, friend or unfriend, and follow or unfollow profession crowds. To request deletion of your account and content, message the site operator on FanbaseSocial.
6. Children
FanbaseSocial is for people aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13; accounts found to belong to younger children will be removed.
7. Security and breaches
Passwords are scrambled with scrypt hashing, sessions are opaque tokens, and private messages are membership-checked on every read. No system is perfect: if a security problem is found, affected users will be told through the site as promptly as possible.
8. Changes
This policy may change as FanbaseSocial grows. Material changes will be announced on the site.
9. Contact
FanbaseSocial is operated by its founder, Shyrone Smith, of Fort Smith, Arkansas. Questions about this policy can be sent to the site operator through a message on FanbaseSocial.
